Staverton Bookcase Haberdashery Style Cabinet *SOLD

£0.00
Sold Out

These beautiful oak bookcases were made throughout the 50s and 60s for use storing files in government offices and Air Ministry bases. Stamped ‘RAF Staverton’ on the back, so I can only assume that is where this fine specimen was stationed. Each of the five sections has a retractable door to reveal compartmentalised storage.

It has been cleaned up and oiled. The fronts are in excellent condition and all doors open fine. There are just some small pieces of veneer missing on the sides at edges where its been knocked over the years and a water mark down one side. If you would prefer the sides restored further then that would be an option at extra cost.

There is a wooden flap with lock that folds forward and would have been used to secure the sections with private files inside, but no key. It can be easily shut and open without the key though.

185cm tall

93cm wide

38cm deep

Can be collected from Trafford in Manchester or I can offer a flat fee of £50 for courier to many areas in UK (some areas like the highlands may incur an extra charge). This is based on a one man service and help will be needed to unload at the buyer's home. If a two man service is required there will be an additional charge.
